QuantHub K12 Launch Checklist

QuantHub Program Description

The QuantHub Program enhances data literacy skills in K-12 education by offering self-paced and self-contained data literacy instruction to individuals of all backgrounds. Our objective is to bridge the gap between education and industry, equipping students with the necessary skills for a data-driven workforce. Our program is designed to be accessible to a wide range of students, creating a new generation of data-savvy professionals ready to excel in the evolving world of data analytics.

QuantHub places a strong emphasis on adaptive learning, project-based assessments, and real-world problem-solving. This approach helps students develop a deeper understanding of quantitative methods and sharpens their critical thinking and analytical skills. By working closely with experienced professionals in the data science industry, QuantHub ensures that its curriculum remains current and relevant, equipping participants with the necessary skills to thrive in today's workforce.

Accessibility

The QuantHub Program is built on the principles of accessibility and inclusion, aiming to create a welcoming and fair environment for individuals seeking to learn and grow professionally in the field of data science. We collaborate with leading organizations and educational resources to ensure that our program meets the needs of all learners. We are compliant in WCAG A and AA standards with keyboard and screen reader capabilities

To make the learning experience easier, QuantHub is designed to be primarily text-based and fully compatible with Google Translate. We provide learner guides to help users navigate the platform and activate the Google Translate plugin, enabling them to access the content in their preferred language. These guides not only assist in platform navigation but also make it easier for learners to get started with QuantHub. Learn more about ESL guides here

Resource Considerations

QuantHub K12 is an educational software that can be purchased for individual learning to state-wide programming. There are no additional costs associated with the program, however, there may be costs associated with acquiring electronic devices for your school/district. Students will need internet access and access to electronic devices to facilitate remote learning. Teachers may also need access to printing resources to implement in-person teaching activities. Learn more about technical requirements.

Partnering School System Responsibilities

Successful implementation of QuantHub is dependent on the following:

  1. Ensure alignment and communication from all stakeholder groups. A commitment to deploying QuantHub as a data literacy intervention in your school or district is dependent on buy-in from all levels. Here is our flyer and the testimonials video
  2. Ensure that your school meets the technical requirements for using a software program. If your school uses Schoology, ensure implementation of the QuantHub Schoology App.
  3. Verify that your school or district has whitelisted the minimum URLs needed for program use. Find the whitelist link in the most current Launch Checklist.
  4. Onboard technology coaches or coordinators and instructional supports.
  5. Teachers are provided the opportunity to onboard during contracted work hours. We recommend departmental group onboarding for the best results.

Access the QuantHub K12 Launch Checklist here

Website Safelist

Teachers must ensure that the websites required are added to the school’s network filter to allow access, and test that they work from the classroom. When school firewalls block access to websites, this can disrupt student learning and success. Learn how to whitelist required resources.

The most important websites we need whitelisted are needed is upskill.quanthub.com and quanthub.com. This will allow students and teachers to have access to everything in the Upskill Platform. QuantHub often points to third-party resources to illustrate applications of data and AI or provide supplemental instructional resources. That list of resources is important to allow students to have access to all the learning materials needed to be able to complete as much of the learning platform as possible, and with your help, we want to do everything possible to allow access for those students. The most current list of resources can always be requested from support@quanthub.com

Schoology Integration

As a Schoology Administrator, we at Quanthub need your help in making sure that everything that students need to be able to log in and access the information is running smoothly. This first includes the sign-on process. Quanthub is integrated with Schoology in an effort to make the process of students and teachers logging on to use it as seamless as possible. You can find our help document for loading the QuantHub app into your Schoology instance here. We understand that in most districts, the Schoology admin wears many hats. We have one additional crucial request that requires your support: the whitelisting of our external resources.

Teacher Recruitment

Quanthub helps teachers and students build their content knowledge in data and digital literacy. Quanthub works with teachers from all subject areas and backgrounds who are passionate about bringing access to data literacy to more students.

We recommend recruiting partner teachers who exhibit the following:

  1. Enthusiastic about learning data literacy content and pedagogy
  2. Commitment to be a Quanthub data literacy champion in the school
  3. Active participation in professional development and onboarding
  4. Commitment to program implementation of Quanthub in daily classroom instruction
  5. Interest in sharing feedback about program implementation in your school

Teacher Support

A note to teachers:

QuantHub is committed to supporting you in the following:

  1. Remove repetitive, administrative work such as bellringer planning and printing, lesson planning, and grading.
  2. Provide easy professional development opportunities in STEM.
  3. Automate differentiation, and free you up to do more of what only you can do: connect with your students.
  4. Address focus areas that are highly tested and notoriously difficult to teach such as statistics.

In addition to providing a student-centered experience, QuantHub offers extensive support for teacher professional development and implementation to ensure a seamless integration of the program.

Quick Start Video for Teachers

Onboarding Options for Teachers

We offer three onboarding options that are specifically designed to help teachers learn and utilize Quanthub effectively.

To ensure that our training efforts are effective and targeted, schools must also provide us with a list of teachers who need training so that we can provision their Quanthub accounts BEFORE onboarding. The list should include the following details for each teacher:

  1. Teacher Full Name (required):
  2. School (if onboarding multiple schools):
  3. Subject(s) Taught:
  4. Grade Level(s) Taught:
  5. Teacher Email Address (required):

Best Practices: We highly recommend that schools and districts proactively schedule onboarding sessions for technology coaches, coordinators, instructional coaches, librarians, and any other support personnel. This will ensure a collaborative and aligned approach to providing support for all staff members involved in the program.

Option 1: Departmental/Group Onboarding

School administrations and departments schedule in-person or virtual group onboarding sessions (see Group Onboarding Email Template). To maximize group onboarding time, teachers are required to Complete Asynchronous Orientation and confirm their Quanthub accounts before attending their group onboarding session. This reduces the number of technical questions and account creation time needed and increases the valuable time used for implementation guidance. To fully participate in the group onboarding session and successfully complete the onboarding activities, teachers are required to have access to a PC or laptop during onboarding.

Best Practice: For group onboarding, we suggest onboarding Technical Implementation personnel and Technology coaches BEFORE onboarding teachers. Once onboarded, technical coaches and implementation personnel assist in group onboarding for teachers. To ensure that everyone is reminded of the session date, we suggest forwarding the calendar invite to all attendees and a brief description of the program (see program description above). This will enable them to receive helpful calendar reminders. Schedule a group onboarding session

Option 2: Remote Teacher Onboarding

School administrations and departments reach out to identified teachers and provide instructions to schedule individual onboarding sessions (see Teacher Onboarding Email Template). Teachers are required to Complete Asynchronous Orientation and confirm their Quanthub accounts before their scheduled remote onboarding session. To fully participate in the remote onboarding session and successfully complete the onboarding activities, teachers are required to have access to a PC or laptop during onboarding.

Best Practice: To make the most of your remote onboarding experience, we recommend exploring the Quanthub dashboard, Insights, and Lesson Plan resources before starting the onboarding process. This will help you gain a deeper understanding and maximize the benefits of the onboarding program. We also recommend accepting the calendar invite received after scheduling your session to ensure your calendar is blocked for the session date scheduled. Schedule remote onboarding session

Option 3: In-person Teacher Onboarding

School administrations and departments reach out to identified teachers and provide instructions to schedule individual onboarding sessions (see Teacher Onboarding Email Template). Teachers are required to Complete Asynchronous Orientation and confirm their Quanthub accounts before scheduling their in-person onboarding session. To fully participate in the in-person onboarding session and successfully complete the onboarding activities, teachers are required to have access to a PC or laptop during onboarding.

Best Practice: In-person onboarding is most successful when scheduled for an entire department. Implementation varies depending on subject area and grade levels. We highly encourage in-person onboarding to be scheduled departmentally with a max participant list of 30. Schedule an in-person onboarding session

Onboarding Process

Screenshot 2024-01-12 at 5.32.55 PM1. Accept your email invitation and create your account in QuantHub

2. Complete Asynchronous Orientation

3. Participate in a live professional development session to plan classroom implementation

4. Add your classes with class code

5. Learn along with your students!

Teachers need to Complete Asynchronous Orientation and then Schedule a 30-minute onboarding session to gain an understanding of the application. The onboarding session can be in-person or virtual depending on the teacher’s preference.

Best Practice: Teachers are more likely to implement QuantHub successfully if they have learned in QuantHub themselves. Reach out to your school or district administrator to inquire if your state or district can award professional development for your acquired data skills.

Class Rostering

Adding student accounts into QuantHub is easy with several options for user management:

For school admin with a QuantHub Admin account:

1. Bulk add student accounts with a CSV upload

2. Add or manage individual accounts

For teachers:

During the onboarding process, teachers will have the chance to create classes and allocate students to their appropriate classes. For detailed instructions on how to add class rostering in QuantHub, please refer to this resource.

In-person Support

QuantHub may offer an in-person support visit or encourage instructional or technology support to provide in-person support within 2-3 weeks of onboarding and implementation. QuantHub encourages follow-up support within 2-3 weeks of implementation via conference call or in-person collaboration. We have found significantly higher success rates for classrooms with this follow-up schedule.

Follow-up discussion items:

  1. Have you encountered any technical issues?
  2. Are you able to see all of your students in your class list? Are there any students that haven't logged in yet?
  3. Do you have any students who need specialized support such as ESL guides, assistance with screen readers, etc?
  4. Tell me about the last time you assigned or used QuantHub.
  5. How can we celebrate an initial milestone? As a class, school, or district?
  6. Are there any other challenges you are encountering with using the QuantHub platform?

The in-person support personnel can be one of the following people:

  1. Quanthub Partnership Coordinator
  2. QuantHub Learning Director
  3. Quanthub Outreach Manager
  4. Quanthub Analyst
  5. The relevant department head (math, science, CTE), technology coach, or instructional coach

Technical Support

Schools/Districts must provide Quanthub with main points of contact for both the school and district (if applicable) to successfully generate accounts and ensure technical issues are addressed promptly. Learn more about technical implementation support.

QuantHub is happy to assist you with any technical issues or questions about QuantHub programming. You may contact support through 3 different methods:

1. Submit a ticket

2. Email support@quanthub.com

3. Utilize the in-app chat located at the bottom right corner of your learning dashboard.

QuantHub support is monitored Monday-Friday, from 8 AM-5 PM. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response.

Providing Feedback

Continuous improvement is a critical component of QuantHub's mission to provide a best-in-class learning experience. QuantHub regularly recruits teachers for focus group and beta testing opportunities that include financial compensation. If you would like to be considered for either of these opportunities, be sure to fill out this form.

Gathering feedback is essential to help understand the programmatic impact and to maintain excellence. Teachers are required to complete an onboarding survey at the end of onboarding. Teachers may also be required to complete an end-of-the-school-year survey.

Lastly, both teachers and students are encouraged to provide feedback in the app. If you would like to report a question or resource, please use the thumbs up or thumbs down vote in the lower left of the screen.
